Marie-Laure Denis is a State Councillor and President of the CNIL (National Commission on Informatics and Liberty) since February 2019. She began her career at the French Council of State, before being appointed Deputy Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Paris, then Chief of Staff to the Minister of the Family and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Minister of Health. For 15 years, she has been a member of several regulatory authorities : CSA, Arcep, Sanctions Committee of the CRE. She is a former student of the ENA and a graduate of the IEP of Paris.

In a world facing technological, digital, environmental and political disruptions, where the multilateral practices are increasingly replaced with unilateralism and protectionism, the EU model is confronted with multiple challenges.
